1. Open the PDF in Acrobat Pro on Windows or Mac. 2. Choose Tools Encrypt Remove Security.
Protect and compress your PDF documents Open a PDF in Acrobat. Select Protect from the menu on the right. In the Protect banner above the document window, click Protect Using Password. Type in your password and save it in a safe location because password recovery is not available.
Optimize the file size of your PDF Open a PDF in Acrobat. Click the Optimize PDF icon from the menu on the right. Click Reduce File Size in the toolbar. On a personal computer, set the version compatibility and select OK . Choose a location to save your file and click Save.
Its possible to compress an encrypted or locked PDF even if you dont know the password, however compressing a PDF will not bypass security settings, such as passwords. So youd still need to unlock the PDF normally before being able to open or edit it. Right-click the PDF you want to compress.
Optimize the file size of your PDF Open a PDF in Acrobat. Click the Optimize PDF icon from the menu on the right. Click Reduce File Size in the toolbar. On a PC, set the version compatibility and click OK . Choose a location to save your file and click Save.
How to compress a PDF Click the Select a file button above or drag and drop files into the drop zone. Select the PDF file you want to make smaller. After uploading, Acrobat will automatically reduce the PDF size. Download your compressed PDF file or sign in to share it.
