hi and welcome students todays tutorial will cover PowerPoint 2016 and Im going to show you what I do when I have to edit an existing presentation so lets say I just downloaded this PowerPoint file from somewhere on the Internet first thing I want to do is I want to go to the file tab up here in the top left itll take me to the backstage menu and I want to go to save as and save as is right there and then I could save it to wherever I want on my computer keep in mind that when you go to save as its saving it to a new location so if you just downloaded it from the computer or from the internet rather its gonna go most likely to your downloads folder so its always a good idea to hit browse right there and choose a new location for it all right so now Ive downloaded this Ive opened it up and now I need to do a couple things one of the first things I do whenever I look at a presentation is I go into the design tab alright design tab gives me a lot of information like what theme am

Select File Info. Select Protect Presentation, point to Restrict Access, and then select Restricted Access. In the Permission dialog box, select Restrict permission to this presentation, and then select More Options.
To lock the slides, click the File tab in PowerPoint and choose the Protect Presentation command in the Info pane. In the drop-down menu, select Mark as Final. That will set your presentation in read-only mode.
Just send a link with permissions, and anyone with web access will be able to view and, if you want, edit the presentation.
When you save presentation as a PDF file it freezes the formatting and layout. People can view the slides even if they dont have PowerPoint, but they cant make changes to it. Select File Export. Click Create PDF/XPS Document, then click Create PDF/XPS.
