This tutorial is the second in a series on using Word templates for theses and dissertations at the University of Houston Clear Lake. The files in the folder are dot X files, which are Microsoft Word template files, different from regular docx files. All Microsoft Word documents are based on a template. The preset styles in a template file, such as font, heading sizes, and margins, are applied to the document every time it is opened. Working with template files follows the same principle as working with regular documents.
