The personal touch of your handwriting provides special emphasis to key points of documents and presentations.
To get access to the inking tool, just click on the Review tab and click the Start Inking button. A new tab will appear called Ink Tools.
- If you access PowerPoint through a Microsoft 365 subscription, you can convert handwritten inked items to objects, text and shapes. Once youve drawn or written on your slide in digital ink, select the ink you want to convert.
To begin using annotation open PowerPoint and display your presentation in the slideshow mode. In slideshow mode hover the mouse or use the stylus to tap the lower left corner of the screen. Use the stylus to select the pen icon. When the pen icon is selected a pop-up menu of additional tools will appear.
To get access to the inking tool, just click on the Review tab and click the Start Inking button. A new tab will appear called Ink Tools.
Under Ink Tools Pens, select Convert to Shapes. With a pen or your finger, draw a shape on the slide, and PowerPoint automatically converts your drawing to the shape that looks most like it.
On the Draw tab, choose Ink to Text, Ink to Shape, or Ink to Math. Or just click the Convert Your Ink button.
Convert your ink drawings to shapes On the Draw tab, select Ink to Shape. (This mode must be turned on before you draw the shape.) Draw the shape of your choice. To continue inking but stop having your drawings automatically converted to shapes, select Ink to Shape once again.
