In Word, you can use frames in your Web page design to make your information organized and easy to access. A frames page, also called a frameset, is a Web page that is divided into two or more sections, each of which points to another Web page. A frame on a frames page can also point to another frames page.
Add a border to selected text Select a word, line, or paragraph. On the Home tab, click the arrow next to the Borders button. In the Borders gallery, click the border style that you want to apply.
Select the shape or text box to which you want to add, change, or remove a border. Click Shape Format, and then click the arrow next to Shape Outline. Either click the color that you want, or mix your own color by clicking More Outline Colors. Point to Weight, and then choose the line weight that you want.
Customize your picture's border Choose the image that you want to add a customized border to. Go to Picture Format > Picture Border. Choose a color. Choose one of the following: In the Weight list, choose a border width. In the Dashes list, choose a line style.
In the Page Background group, click the Page Borders option. In the Borders and Shading window (shown below), if not already selected, click the Page Border tab. Make the desired changes to the border that is currently set for the document or page.
From your Menu Bar select Format > Borders and Shading. There you will see the Width control. The Borders pull-down button menu from the Home tab in the Paragraph group doesn't provide that option and you have to use the Format > Boarder and Shading command.
The steps to do this are: Select the picture. In the upper bar in “Format” look for Cropping. Drag the frame to a square format. Alternatively, enter the desired values for height and width. Click the Crop button again.
Frames are used as the method for positioning Addresses on Envelopes by Word (all versions). For that, they are part of Style definitions, the Envelope Address Style and Envelope Return Style.
Add a border to selected text Select a word, line, or paragraph. On the Home tab, click the arrow next to the Borders button. In the Borders gallery, click the border style that you want to apply.
If you cannot edit your Word document, it's probably protected with a password. In case you don't want to enter the password every time you access the document, you'll need to disable document protection, and delete the password.
