in this video were going to show you how to disable pdf printing first open windows explorer locate the document you wish to protect right click on the pdf and choose make secure pdf in the pdf writer select the printing and viewing tab in the printing area make sure the allowed printing checkbox is deselected if it is selected remove it and youre happy with that click publish the protection status window appears and confirms that the protection status has succeeded click ok the protected document now appears in the folder beneath the original pdf please note it now has a dot pdc extension this is now a protected pdf file which can only be opened with the lock lizard secure pdf viewer if we double click on the document the safeguard secure viewer will open and load the document because printing was not allowed the print icon in the top left corner is greyed out if you click on it nothing happens and you cannot use ctrl p or any other keyboard shortcuts so weve effectively disabled
