i think we all know someone who brags about the amount of hours they work like its something to be proud of and i personally think its sad theres this post on reddit titled why are people proud of working 80 plus hours a week to survive and there are some really insightful answers in here theres one comment in here that i think sums it up pretty nicely and its people want to find dignity in their lives they dont want to feel like theyre being unfairly exploited so they would rather convince themselves that what theyre doing is noble and honorable most people i find end up making their job and their career their entire identity and they dont know what to do except for work i think we all know someone whos like i worked 100 hours last week and its just you know a lot of people will give that person praise and be like yeah you must be a real go-getter you can be a real go-getter just by working 40 hours a week and personally i think 40 hours a week is too much most of the peop
