Dye also works with a range of photo papers with the best results coming on high gloss media ideal for album photography. Dye inks can take time to dry and can smudge if handled and they are not as resistant to fading as pigment when put on display.
Pearl Finish Often used by professional photographers and graphic designers, it includes slightly higher glossiness compared to satin finish. It benefits from vibrant deep color results, but yet still has a lower reflection than the gloss paper.
Dye-based inks produce their richest colours on glossy and lustre papers while pigment inks tend to work best on matte and fine art papers. The smooth, shiny surface of glossy photo paper makes details appear sharp and colours vivid. High-gloss (or super-gloss) is even shinier to emphasise these characteristics.
The short answer will be no. The long answer is because inkjet photo paper isnt designed to withstand the heat of a laser printer in the process of fusing melted toner into the paper. For laser printers, please look for laser photo paper.
Glossy. This paper type is traditionally used when printing images or photographs rather than text, as it has the ability to produce brilliant colours and sharp images. The glossy surface absorbs the ink, creating much higher clarity images than you could expect from matte paper.
In general glossy paper will require more ink than plain inkjet paper. Do a quick test, take a sheet of plain inkjet paper, set up for inkjet paper, then print a small image. Change settings to glossy paper and print that.
The ARTnews Recommends Editors Best Overall: Epson Ultra Premium Photo Paper Luster. Best Matte Paper: Canon Photo Paper Premium Matte. Best Darkroom-Style Paper: Canson Infinity Baryta Photographique II. Best Glossy Paper: Hahnemhle Photo Glossy 260. Best Cotton Paper: Moab Entrada Rag Bright 300.
The most common types of paper for printing photos are glossy, luster, and baryta paper. An inkjet printer uses a printer cartridge that creates an image that is 300 x 300 dpi (dots per inch). Most printer cartridge brands do not create a resolution that is true photo quality.
