The element provides a container for related form controls, and the element acts as a heading to identify the group. The legend for a group of controls can also highlight common attributes of all controls, for example, to advise that all fields in the group are required.
Checkboxes and radio buttons are elements for making selections. Checkboxes allow the user to choose items from a fixed number of alternatives, while radio buttons allow the user to choose exactly one item from a list of several predefined alternatives.
A radio group is defined by giving each of radio buttons in the group the same name . Once a radio group is established, selecting any radio button in that group automatically deselects any currently-selected radio button in the same group.
To add multiple radio button groups in one form, first, create a form in HTML with a tag. Then, insert the element and add various attributes, including type as radio, id, name, and value. Lastly, create a Submit button through input type submit.
The radio button is a selection control element, allowing the user to select one option from a set of several mutually exclusive options. Its represented as a small circle that has a solid dot inside it when selected. Its commonly used as a part of UI patterns that focus on form design and settings screens.
/ structures are used for grouping form controls that are related in some way. While in complex forms they can be used to group all kinds of form controls, groups of radio buttons and checkboxes should always be grouped by them.
1) Select the element with id #group. 2) Generate a radio group using the map() method with template literals; each array element is corresponding to a radio button HTML. 3) Join radio button HTML strings into an HTML string using the join() method. 4) Assign the HTML to the innerHTML of the output element.
The HTML is used to define a Radio Button. Radio Buttons are used to let the user select exactly one option from a list of predefined options. Radio Button input controls are created by using the input element with a type attribute having value as radio.
As Gav commented above, radio buttons must have an ID, and name. You must set your Label up with the attibute for, which matches the ID of the radio button. Even though your input is nested inside the label, you will still need an ID for each. The name attribute can be common.
Defining Radio Group in HTML We can define a group for radio buttons by giving each radio button the same name. As and when the user selects a particular option from this group, other options are deselected. Following is an example of radio buttons with different names within a form.
