Most of the time as a graphic designer, youre going to get a document like this with all of the content for your design. So, usually Ill just highlight everything and copy it and then go to my InDesign document, start a new one. And well create that. Ill go to my Type Tool, draw a text box and paste. So this is sometimes how it will come into your InDesign document. So first, we actually need to remove these bullets. Im going to highlight them with my Text Tool, copy and do a Find and then paste that in. And then change to nothing. Im just going to not have anything there. So Ill Find Next and Change All. Edit the Bullet point distance from the beginning of the sentence Opened Paragraph Styles. Click the top right corner dropdown and chose Style Options. Click on Bullets and Numbering. I Chose Bullets from the List Type dropdown. I changed the Tab Position to 5mm as a test.
You can format the bullet points and replace them with other characters by clicking Bullets and Numbering on the Paragraph Styles panel. The List Type menu allows you to specify whether to use bullet points or numbers. Under Bullets you see four more bullet options you can use for your bulleted list.
You can add and customize bulleted or numbered lists in Google Docs and Slides. You can also add checklists in Google Docs.
In the Bullets and Numbering Options dialog box: Turn on Preview by enabling the checkbox. Click the up arrow key in the First Line Indent field to decrease the first line indent hereby decreasing the space between the bullet or number and the text.
Press the tab key on your keyboard before your first bullet text and type your bullet ( Alt-8 on PC, Opt-8 on Mac). For proper space between the bullet and the text, go to Type Insert White Space En Space ( Ctrl-Shift-N , Cmd-Shift-N ).
Use the Bullet or Number Position section of the New Paragraph Style dialog box to change the indent spacing. For example, to create a hanging indent, type 2p for Left Indent and ‑2p for First Line Indent. Specify other paragraph style attributes for the style, and then click OK.
