Hi-res images are at least 300 pixels per inch (ppi). This resolution makes for good print quality, and is pretty much a requirement for anything that you want hard copies of, especially to represent your brand or other important printed materials.
What is a high-resolution JPEG? A high-resolution JPEG is an image that is typically 300 DPI (dots per inch) or higher. While its file size may be larger, it can be ideal for those wanting to save a photograph or art piece and retain detail and quality.
Its best to look at the pixel dimension of your images as youre making them. As long as theyre at least about 1024 pixels wide (for a horizontal image) they should be fine for teaching. The standard resolution for web images is 72 PPI (often called screen resolution).
As a rough guide a 20KB image is a low quality image, a 2MB image is a high quality one.
Follow these steps. Open your image in Photoshop. Choose Image Image Size. Deselect Resample. This will automatically lock the current ratio of Width and Height. To adjust Resolution, add new values. To adjust Document Size, add new values under Height and Width.
The optimal file size for images on a website is no more than 200 KB, and for full-screen background images, between 1500 pixels to 2500 pixels wide, and for most other images a max-width of 800 pixels. Keeping images between these perimeters will ensure they load properly on computers and mobile screens.
Choose the right image dimensions But the website builder typically recommends using 2048 by 2048 pixels for square product photos. These high-resolution images give your store a professional and well-rounded look, with great zoom capabilities.
