Hello, Im Chris Menard. I have a great Excel video for you today. Have you ever had an Excel file, and all of a sudden it is really huge in file size and you know it shouldnt be that size? So this just happened to me, so Im gonna share how to fix it in this video right now. So just to show you the file size before I even start, if I go to File and Info, there is 20.3 MB. There is no way this file should be that size. I just put it together, no one else has worked in it, Ive only got six worksheets and most of them are just a few charts in here. It is this worksheet that Im on right now is the one thats causing the issue. By the way, in case youre wondering, how do I know that theres six worksheets, the Review tab, Workbook stats. Thatll tell you whats going on in your current worksheet and it will show you whats going on in your entire workbook. Notice it says sheets, six. So heres what I would do first: Im not going to do this, but I would delete any worksheets you dont

Go to the column next to the last one with data in it, in my example its column M, and select that column. Press CTRL + SHIFT + RIGHT ARROW key to select all the columns after this one, up to the end of the empty columns. Then press right-click and select Delete.
Select all the filtered rows: Press Ctrl + Home, then press the down-arrow key to go to the first data row, then press Ctrl + Shift + End. Right-click on any selected cell and choose Delete row from the context menu or just press Ctrl + - (minus sign). Click OK in the Delete entire sheet row? dialog box.
If the columns you want to delete start from column M, first, click the starting cell (say, M1), then hold Shift while you click the ending cell (lets say Z1000). Then, it will automatically highlight the entire columns, now you can right-click the highlighted columns and click delete Entire Column.
Select all blank columns - click on the first column letter, press Shift, and then click the letter of the last blank column. Right-click the selected columns and choose Delete from the pop-up menu.
Right-click the object. On the shortcut menu, click Format. In the dialog box, click the Size tab. Under Scale, enter the percentage of the original height or width you want the object resized to.

If you want to delete multiple rows or columns at once, you can select them all by holding down the Shift key while you click on the row or column headers. Then, you can press the Delete key or right-click and click on Delete, just like before.
