[Music] whats up guys this episode were gonna be diving into fixing a bug in our nested comment threads now this is a specific bug two nested threads because in a normal flat comment system youre not going to have this issue so lets take a look at that issue if you delete one comment that has children those children will disappear even though they still exist and they will actually be referencing a parent that does not exist so that happens like this so you delete the parent comment and none of the children are ever seen again which is kind of funny so the solutions for this are kind of one of two ways you can either update all of the children to now point to the parent parent which could be nothing or it could be another comment up above or you can actually do a soft delete on that comment instead remove it from the user and remove the contents of it so you can still render that comment out thats common if you take a look at reddit where youll see a deleted comment in the comme
