I really dont like the look of stained wood I feel like it generally makes the piece look a little worse and just mute the colors what this is is actually different this is dyeing the wood and this is a process I learned from a luthier a guitar maker and this is using a Dye concentrate Im using a brand called trans tint with just plain old tap water and this luthier told me that the tap water is definitely the way to go and so what I do is I mix up a pretty dark batch and then I sand it off lightly and this is called back sanding and then I use a slightly lighter Black come back through the next step and what that does is it gives it this really 3D cascading effect which looks amazing in my opinion
