The margin property sets or returns the margins of an element. This property can take from one to four values: One value, like: div {margin: 50px} - all four margins will be 50px. Two values, like: div {margin: 50px 10px} - the top and bottom margins will be 50px, left and right margins will be 10px.
In web development and design, the margin of an element represents the outside space of the element itself, while the padding represents the inner space surrounding the element.
All you need to do is give your HEADER tag a 1px border, aswell as setting the BODY MARGIN to zero, as shown below. You may also need to change the MARGIN to zero for any H1, H2, etc. elements you have within your HEADER div. This will get rid of any extra space which may show around the text.
Here we have: Defined the space between the image border and the text by defining the top margin. Defined the left margin. Defined the top padding between the image and the border. In the following code for the image property, we set the: image width to 300px. border to 2px. padding to 0px. margin to 0px.
Here is the code without the shorthand property: padding-top: 10px; padding-right: 30px; padding-bottom: 10px; padding-left: 30px; HTML.
The margin-trim property allows the container to trim the margins of its children where they adjoin the containers edges.
