Hello, my name is Don Kinney. I have developed the cylinder inspection program for ITI. Id like to take a few moments to go ahead and describe some of the proper markings on a cylinder which might come across your path. All cylinders are required to have specific governmental markings on them in order to be filled. What Id like to do is describe what some of those markings are because they can be somewhat confusing at times. On this specific cylinder I have in front of you, there are two lines. The top row says TC, indicating Transport Canada. The bottom row says DOT, indicating the Department of Transportation. Next to that, we have what the cylinder is manufactured out of.. which is aluminum. The top part, in Canada, its 3ALM. The bottom, in the U.S. is 3AL. The next number which youre going to run across is a cylinders working pressure at room temperature. The top one, 207, is in bar. The bottom one, 3000, is in PSI.
