3D printed parts are definitely strong enough to be used to make common plastic items that can withstand great amounts of impact and even heat. For the most part, ABS tends to be much more durable, though it does have a much lower tensile strength than PLA.
After the file has loaded, right-click the model, which will bring up a menu where youll see Mesh Tools at the top. Hover over that option, then click Split Model Into Parts from the context menu that appears. Now, youll see that each of the parts can be individually selected and edited. There you have it!
For more precise support removal, you can use a knife, needle-nose pliers or flush cutters to carefully cut and break off the extraneous 3D printed supports. Carefully heating a knife blade can help to seamlessly remove the support from the print surface.
