hey everyone hows it going its jule tolentino here all right so in this video im going to show you guys how to make a text field required to fill out in docHub so before i show you that i just want to show you guys that i have a whole bunch of other docHub tutorials that you guys can also check out the links to those will be down in the description below so ive got an example pdf fillable form here that i created and when you are in docHub you want to make sure that youre in the prepare form tab and itll look like something like this with all the fillable text fields and to make one of these required lets for example this one you want to double click on your text field and then go to general and youll see here common properties you want to check required in order to make it required for people to fill out that particular text field so im going to click on that click close and then youll see a red will appear around it and if you go t

To do this: Click the settings icon in the top toolbar when editing a form. The form settings sidebar will then appear on the right-hand side of the page. Click the Styling tab. In the Required Fields section, change the Custom Required HTML setting. Click Save Close.
When you make a field required, people must enter an answer to the field in order to submit their entry. When someone tries to submit an entry without filling out a required field, we highlight the problematic fields and display an error message to let them know the field is required.
On each form, mandatory fields must be clearly indicated: A distinctive sign (* symbol, mandatory mention, etc.) If a symbol is used to declare mandatory fields, a statement placed at the beginning of the form must indicate that the symbol stands for a mandatory field.
Required attribute: If you want to make an input mandatory to be entered by the user, you can use the required attribute. This attribute can be used with any input type such as email, URL, text, file, password, checkbox, radio, etc. This can help to make any input field mandatory.
Open the PDF in docHub Pro. Click the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Click Start to allow Acrobat to automatically detect fields in your form image.
To run form field recognition in a PDF document, do as the following: Click Form Run Form Field Recognition. All the corresponding types of form fields will be automatically created and named with the text near the form fields. You can edit or delete the created form fields after right-clicking them.
How to enforce Required Fields in a PDF form Open the PDF form. Right-click on the form field click on Properties click General. Select Required. Click on Actions. Under Select Trigger, select On Blur. Select Run a JavaScript under Select Action. Insert the following text:

With the form fields added to the PDF, right click on the Signature field you are wanting to edit and choose Properties. Then from the Signed tab, choose to Mark as read-only and select the fields you want to lock after signing. Finally, Close.
