When the tab opens, you see different types of fields that you can add to your document. To add the Formula Field, select Formula. Drag and drop the selected field anywhere on the document.
Create your own formula Click the cell where you want the formula result to appear, then enter the equal sign (=). The formula editor opens. Enter a left parenthesis ( to begin your formula. Select a cell to use as the first argument in your formula, or enter a value (for example, a number such as 0 or 5.20).
Add an equation with LaTeX or MathML in the toolbar, then tap Equation. Enter a LaTeX or MathML equation using the keyboard and the symbols above the keyboard. On iPad, some keys may have multiple characters at the top. To type one of these characters, touch and hold the key, then swipe diagonally left or right.
Select Insert Equation or press Alt + =. Select the equation you need.
Click and hold on the first cell to sum then drag to select the rest of the cells in the range. The SUM function will appear automatically, no need to type it in. Let go then hit return and youre done.
Write equations Tap Home and select Insert. Under Insert, choose Insert New Equation. You get the prompt to type a new equation. After you type your equation in linear format, tap to see Math Options.
Copy an equation: Tap the equation, tap Copy, scroll to the page where you want to place the equation, then tap Paste. You can also place the insertion point in a table cell or in a page header or footer, then tap Paste to paste the equation as an inline object.
