Type about:config in the address bar and press Enter. A warning page may appear. Click Accept the Risk and Continue to go to the about:config page. Click Show All to view all preferences currently set in the profile or use the Search preference name box to filter the list.
In the Menu bar at the top of the screen, click Firefox and then select Preferences or Settings, depending on your macOS version. Click the menu button. and select Settings.
You can use the button on the Help - More Troubleshooting Information (about:support) page to go to the current Firefox profile folder or use the about:profiles page (Root directory). Firefox MSIX from the MS Store has the profile in this location: C:\Users\\AppData\Local\Packages\Mozilla.
%APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\ A list of profile folders will appear. Click on the profile folder you wish to open (it will open in a window). If you only have one profile, its folder would have default in the name.
Check Firefox settings and select Settings. Select the Privacy Security panel and go to the History section. In the drop-down menu next to Firefox will choose Use custom settings for history. Make sure that Remember search and form history is selected.
Open Firefox. Click on the row of bars on the upper right corner of the browser to bring up the menu. Now, you will see Firefoxs Options menu.
To back up your profile, first close Firefox if it is open and then copy the profile folder to another location. Locate your profile folder, as explained above. Close Firefox (if open): Click the Firefox menu and select Exit. Go to one level above your profiles folder, i.e. to %APPDATA%\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles\
This is the main preferences file for Firefox and is located in you profile folder. The file does not exist by default, so you need to create it before you can start adding your preferences. In almost all cases, edits made using the user. js can be done via about:config, which is the recommended method.
