Fillable PDF forms are documents that allow users to enter and edit data in specific fields, such as text boxes, checkboxes, or drop-down menus. They are often used for surveys, applications, invoices, contracts, and other forms that require user input.
Traditional PDF documents are static files that you can print and fill out by hand. They are essentially digital versions of paper forms users download and print them, fill them out manually, scan them, and send them via email. On the other hand, fillable PDF forms are interactive and dynamic documents.
To do so, open your PDF file in docHub, then click on the Edit PDF tool in the toolbar on the right. When youre in form editing mode, you can make several types of changes to the PDF file. You can edit text, alter a field name, or add new text and fillable fields. You can also choose different fonts.
A fillable PDF is a PDF document that includes certain fields that are editable without PDF-editor software. Any fillable PDF that opens in modern PDF viewers (Acrobat, Preview, Chrome, Bluebeam) will be usable in the Forms tool. Note: XFA-based PDFs are only compatible with docHub.
Create a fillable PDF from an existing PDF document. Click the Tools tab and select Prepare Form. Select a file, like a Word document, Excel sheet, or scan of a paper document. Add new form fields and field names, if needed. Use the top toolbar and adjust the layout with the tools in the right pane.
Making a field required in docHub Open the necessary PDF form, choose Forms Signatures Prepare Form. Select the field that needs to be required, right click on it and choose Set as a Required Field: Save changes.
To determine whether you can fill a PDF form onscreen, check to see if it contains interactive form fields and check for restrictive security settings. (For more information about PDF security settings, see the Acrobat or docHub Reader Help.)
Create form fields Open the document in Acrobat and select Edit Prepare a form Create form to convert your document to a PDF form. Choose a form field from the left pane. On the page, select where you want to add the field to create a field with the default size. Place the field at your desired location.
