The new Edge is a much better browser, and there are compelling reasons to use it. (The new Edge is the only one thats ever been offered in Windows 11.) But you might still prefer to use Chrome, Firefox, or one of the many other browsers out there.
Open Microsoft Edge. Select the three dots () in the upper-right corner of your browser window to open the main menu. Open Settings. Scroll down to the Appearance section and select Customize toolbar.
How to Change Your Default Browser Go to Settings on Your Device. Open the start menu on your device and select settings. Locate the Default Apps Section. From the sidebar menu at the left-hand side, click apps. Next, select default apps. Select Your Preferred Browser. Set Your Preference As Your Default Browser.
Click More button. Select Settings. Scroll down to Advanced settings. Click View Advanced settings.
I understand your viewpoint, but Microsoft always has provided an option to change default browsers. Some components, though, are tied to Edge, like the Start Menu search etc., for a better experience. Edge is also used in the background for some core processes, like Windows Spotlight Images.
Select Settings and more Settings Profiles Addresses and more. Turn on Save and fill addresses. The setting is on when it has a blue background, and its off when the background is white.
Microsoft has spent the past few years trying to force Windows users into using Edge. Its now extending that effort to the mobile space where Microsoft can leverage its popular apps.
Lack of Market Share: Edge has a much smaller market share than Chrome and Firefox, which can make it difficult to find compatibility with certain websites and extensions. This can make users feel like Edge is not a supported or reliable browser.
