Yes A url with many dots is valid. However a domain name with multiple consecutive dots is not valid since the length of each label has to be more than 0.
The dot ( . ) is the character that was defined to be the delimiter in domain names (see DNS). It delimits the labels in a domain name. The domain name .google.com consists of three labels: com (aka. the top-level domain)

A typical URL could have the form http://.example.com/index.html , which indicates a protocol ( http ), a hostname ( .example.com ), and a file name ( index. html ).
Adding the dot to the end of the domain name makes it an absolute fully-qualified domain name instead of just a regular fully-qualified domain name, and most browsers treat absolute domain names as being a different domain from the equivalent regular domain name (I'm not sure why they do this though).

From a technical standpoint, there is nothing preventing us from using dots (.) in URLs. However, from a usability standpoint, literal dots can be a cause of confusion. Dots in the URL may not make immediate sense to novice users that already has a hard time understanding the concept of an URL.
.. (dot dot) This refers to the parent directory of your working directory, immediately above your working directory in the file system structure. If one of these is used as the first element in a relative path name, it refers to your working directory.
Relative paths make use of two special symbols, a dot (.) and a double-dot (..), which translate into the current directory and the parent directory. Double dots are used for moving up in the hierarchy. A single dot represents the current directory itself.
URL stands for Uniform Resource Locator. A URL is nothing more than the address of a given unique resource on the Web. In theory, each valid URL points to a unique resource. Such resources can be an HTML page, a CSS document, an image, etc.
