gday there groovers and this video here just wanted to talk a little about file compression and file size and different formats to use but really specifically just wanted to talk about photo the photoshop format the dot psd file or tiff files and in the past id previously saved all my images using the dot psd extension and i dont do that anymore i stick just with tiff file now and theres a couple of good reasons for that one is file size and it just completely reduces the amount of size thats required on your hard drives and when youre working with a lot of images and using lots of layers and stuff like that if you can save half the file size so if youre working on a 100 meg image which would which it would be as a dot psd file and you can get that down to 50 meg or 55 meg its better my way of thinking is its better to have that 50 meg free on your hard drive and youre not sacrificing any of the quality either so i did a couple of tests just to show you exactly what im talk

A TIFF is an image file — so it stores photographic and graphical data. You won't be able to edit the original file information without editing software, like Adobe Photoshop or Illustrator.
Open your TIF file in any standard image viewer and editor program such as Adobe Photoshop, CorelDRAW, MS-Paint, etc., that supports the TIF file.
Which file is best for photography — JPEG or TIFF? A TIFF will enable you to store richer, more detailed images. It's good practice to save your original (or source) photos as TIFF files. JPEGs, meanwhile, might be a better choice for exporting your finished edits because they're easier to share and print.
Right-click the illustration that you want to save as a separate image file, and then click Save as Picture. In the Save as type list, select the file format that you want.
You may find that capability useful when designing professional-looking documents that require high-quality images. Even though you can't open TIFs using the Word's Open window, you can still convert TIFs into Word documents.
TIFF files are typically uncompressed, so they are larger in size than JPEG files (or JPG files). However, this also means that they have higher quality images. JPEG compression means that they typically take up less space but the image quality is not as good.
On the TIFF Image Printer Advanced Properties dialog set the following settings: Set the Paper Size to match the size of the slide, in this case 5×7. ... Set the Print Quality (also known as the resolution) to 600 x 600 dots per inch. Set the Color Printing Mode to True Color (24bpp).
Increase image quality using Super Resolution. Open your image in Lightroom. Choose Photo > Enhance. Select Super Resolution. Click Enhance. Lightroom will increase your image resolution and save it as a new DNG file. Any previous edits you've made to your new high-resolution photo will be included.
How to edit TIF images using Aspose. Imaging Image Editor Click inside the file drop area to upload TIF images or drag & drop TIF image files. Edit the image with one or more operations such as crop, rotate, apply filter, etc. Click the Apply button to apply the changes for each operation.
Monochrome printing by Excel or PowerPoint graphics On the “File” menu, point to “Print”, and select “Microsoft Office Document Image Writer” under “printer”. Click “Properties”, click the “Advanced” tab. Check “TIFF-Monochrome FAX” under Page 2 “Output format”, and then select “Fine (300dpi)”.
