How to unlock a PDF to remove password security: Open the PDF in Acrobat. Use the Unlock tool: Choose Tools Protect Encrypt Remove Security. Remove Security: The options vary depending on the type of password security attached to the document.
Other Options to Copy Text From a Secured PDF Upload the PDF to Google Drive and convert it to a Word document to remove the security features and copy your text. Use a Snapshot tool that can read the text from the image and convert it to a copyable text format.
Make sure youve selected the Text tool by choosing Tools Text. If you still cannot select text, the PDF is probably a scanned PDF, which does not contain any text but rather an image that may look like text.
The Text Selection tool may not be selected: Choose Tools Text Selection, or click the Show Markup Toolbar button , then click the Text Selection button . The PDF may require a password before you can select or copy text: Choose Tools Show Inspector, click the Encryption Inspector button , then enter the password.
To extract the text using Preview: Simply open the PDF file in Preview and select the Select tool from the toolbar. Then select the text you want to extract and copy it to your clipboard. You can paste the text into a new document or use it however you like!

For each document window, choose Sidebar in the toolbar, and then click the Contact Sheet or Thumbnails button at the bottom of the sidebar. Drag each pages thumbnail image from its original document to the other document.

Here are some methods that can help: Use a PDF editor. A PDF editor will let you select the text you want to copy and then copy it normally. Use a screen capture tool.
