[Music] in this video were going to create code in google apps script to extract unique values from a column in a data set and then sum based on those unique values so what you see here is a preview of what were going to build today i have a data set of loan records and column c contains branch locations and i have a script button over here when i press this it will extract the unique values from column c place them in column e here and then sum based on those unique values to get totals by branch location so ill run this you can see we get our unique values with a sum if formula to the right of those unique values now if i go down to the bottom of our data set i can add a new branch location just enter a random amount here and well add branch 5 which would be new so now when i click this button again ill get a sum based on our adjusted unique values so the first thing we want to do is get into the script editor window you can do that by going to extensions and then apps script t
