Text takes on the style of the recipient document So when you paste your text into the other document, it takes on the formatting of Normal style in that other document. If the Normal style in the other document is Arial 11pt, then thats how your text will appear.
Copy the selection to the clipboard Right-click the selection and select Copy from the pop-up menu. Press Ctrl+C (Windows) or ⌘+C (Mac).
2. Copying and pasting a webpage into a standard document Click anywhere in your desired webpage. Press CTRL+A on the keyboard. Press CTRL+C. This copies the content onto the clipboard. Open a document on your word processor application. Press CTRL+V on the keyboard to paste the content.
The issue here is about styles. You think youre copying Arial 10pt text. Word thinks youre copying text in, say, Body Text style. When text is copied from one document to another, it retains direct formatting, but otherwise takes on the formatting of the style in the receiving document.
Reviewing or editing in browser Press Ctrl+C to copy, Ctrl+X to cut, or Ctrl+V to paste the text or picture (Windows); or press ⌘+C, ⌘+X, or ⌘+V (Mac). On Chrome, Firefox, and Chromium-based Edge, you can also use Ctrl+Shift+V and ⌘+Shift+V to paste text only (pastes text without source formatting).
Press Ctrl + U (PC) or ⌘ Cmd + ⌥ Option + U (Mac). This option will display the websites source code in any web browser. As long as the text you want to copy isnt an image, youll be able to copy it from the source code and paste it anywhere.
Choose Edit Copy (from the Edit menu at the top of your screen), or press Command-C.
Control the formatting when you paste text Go to File Options Advanced. Under Cut, copy, and paste, select the down arrow for the setting to change . Pasting within the same document When you paste content into the same document from which you copied the content. Each setting has options you can set: Select OK.
Click the down-arrow on the Paste Options button and youll see a menu with icons that lets you format copied text in different ways.Using the Paste Options button Keep Source Formatting: Keeps the formatting of the text you copied. Use Destination Styles: Matches the formatting where you pasted your text.
(Shortcut: Press CTRL + M, to choose this after pasting). Keep Text Only will only take the text and give it no other formatting. (Shortcut: Press CTRL+ T, to do this quickly after pasting).
