Simple Steps for using PDF in Visio Convert the PDF file to WMF, EMF, or SVG using pdf2picture or the Insert PDF for Visio add-in. Open the converted file in Visio using Insert Pictures. You can also drag the file onto a Visio page. Ungroup the drawing. Save as a Visio Drawing.

Click on File and select Open to import the PDF document you want to convert. Then, navigate to Export PDF under the Tools tab. Choose Microsoft Visio as the export format and select the conversion settings as per your requirements. Finally, click Export to initiate the conversion process.
On the File tab, click Open and then browse to the location of the file that you want to import. In the Files of type box, click the file format of the file you want to import. If you dont see the file format listed, Visio doesnt have a file filter for that format. Try saving the document in a format Visio can open.
Select the PDF file you want to convert to VSD by clicking on it. After opening the PDF file, click on the More dropdown menu located at the top right corner of the page. From the dropdown menu, select Convert to VSD.
Choose Import and and Summarize Document with AI. Drag your file into the pop-up menu or click to select files. Click ➕ Create Project to paste the summary into a new project. Switch to the Mind Map / Flowchart view using the buttons at the top.
Visio cant work directly with PDF files. Either get a PDF file editor, or convert the PDF into DXF format (there are free converters available for that job), then import the DXF file into Visio. A True PDF can be converted to an editable Visio (VSD) file - I have done it many times.
