Why did my PDF files change to Chrome HTML? Some people report that the file type of their PDF files becomes Chrome HTML Document (. pdf). The reason is that no PDF reader is installed on your computer or you have set Google Chrome as the default app to open PDF files.
How to stop Chrome from converting PDF to HTML. Open the file properties and right-click on the file that has changed to a Chrome HTML. After you click the Change button, another dialog box will pop up and ask you to select the app you wish to use to open your PDF file.
Change the PDF properties * Select the PDF file saved in the Chrome HTML format. * Right click and go to properties. * In Opens with, hit the Change button. * Change the default app for.pdf files to docHub (or your PDF viewer) and hit Set default * Select Apply and then OK.
