Click the File tab and then click Options. Click Advanced. Under Compatibility options for, expand Layout Options, click to select the Dont use hanging indent as tab stop for bullets and numbering check box, and then click OK.
To add a bullet to the text, do ctrl-Shift-L (thats ctrl-Shift-lowercase L, which stands for List Bullet).
A commonly used symbol to represent a bullet point is a centered dot ( ), but many different symbols and characters can be used in bullet point lists. Sometimes, bulleted lists even use numbers and/or letters.
One of the PowerPoint annoyances is that bullet point paragraphs are not aligned properly when overflowing to the next line. Its easy to fix. Display the ruler (view menu), select the text, and move the little markers, leaving the top one to the left, and the bottom one at the desired indent.
The size of the bullet symbol may change if you apply formatting to the paragraph mark that terminates the numbered or bulleted item. Select the whole paragraph and (re-)apply the font size. If you set this up with a paragraph style, selecting the whole paragraph and pressing Ctrl+SpaceBar would be the quickest fix.
Click anywhere inside of the paragraph in which you want to align your bulleted list. Click the dialog launcher in the lower-right corner of the Paragraph section of the Home tab to open the Paragraph dialog box. Note the number in the Before Text box in the Indentation section. Click OK to close the dialog.
Right-click, and then click Adjust List Indents. Change the distance of the bullet indent from the margin by clicking the arrows in the Bullet position box, or change the distance between the bullet and the text by clicking the arrows in the Text indent box.
