Hi. This is Marty from Blue Lightning TV. Im going to show you how to create a custom, intertwined, monogram logo centered on a simple, but powerful background. If the middle initial of the monogram is larger than the other two, the middle initial is the surname or last name. The first initial is the first name and the last initial is the middle name. However, if all the initials are the same size, the order of the initials represents the first, middle and last name. I provided a link to a website that explains the general rules pertaining to monograms. The link is located in the video description. Create a new document by pressing Ctrl + N on Windows or Cmd + N on a Mac. Make the Width: 1200 pixels, the Height: 900 pixels and the Resolution: 300 pixels per inch. Make the Color Mode: RGB at 8 bits per channel. Then click OK. Lets begin by making the background first. Open your Gradient Tool and make sure the Linear gradient icon is highlighted. You simply replace the name with the first letter of the name, capitalized and followed by a period.
Initials are the capital letters which begin each word of a name. For example, if your full name is Michael Dennis Stocks, your initials will be M. D. S.
Initials require no periods when someone has come to be known by initials alone (JFK, LBJ, etc.). Mary Jane is MJ. However, formal manuscripts probably need the periods.
For an individual, the order of initials is the first name, last name, and middle name. The last name initial (center) is larger than those on either side.
Inserting the Users Initials Position the insertion point where you want the initials inserted. Choose Field from the Insert menu. You will see the Field dialog box. In the Categories list, choose User Information. In the Field Names list choose UserInitials. Click on OK to close the dialog box and insert your field.
Open the PDF document or form in Acrobat or Reader, and click Fill Sign in the right pane. Click the Sign icon in the Fill Sign toolbar, and then choose whether you want to add your signature or just initials. If you have already added signatures or initials, they are displayed as options to choose from.
If you are following the traditional initial order, the last name initial will be the largest and in the center, with the first and middle name on the left and right. If you keep both your maiden name and your last name, then your middle name can be substituted with your maiden name in the initials.
Choose Change User Name. Click into the Initials text box under the Personalize your copy of Microsoft Office section. Type your initials. Click the OK button. Your initials will now appear in the document anytime you use an option on the Review tab such as adding a new comment or deleting a word.
Open the PDF document or form in Acrobat or Reader, and click Fill Sign in the right pane. Click the Sign icon in the Fill Sign toolbar, and then choose whether you want to add your signature or just initials. If you want to automatically insert the user name in your documents, you can follow these steps: Position the insertion point where you want the user name inserted. Choose Field from the Insert menu. In the Categories list, choose User Information. In the Field Names list choose UserName. Click on OK.
