Here is how: Select the rows in the table that you want to highlight (typically the entire dataset). In the Home tab and click on the Conditional Formatting option. Select New Rules. In the following dialog, select Use a formula to determine which cells to format in the Select a Rule Type section.
Heres how: Enable the Developer Tab in Excel. On this tab, choose Insert, and then select the Check Box icon under Form Controls. Once youve selected the form control, your cursor will look like a plus symbol, indicating that you are ready to draw your form control.
Select a cell you need to change its background color, then check the checkbox. You can see the fill color of the selected cell is changed to red. And the selected cell will be filled with no background color after unchecking the checkbox.
Add the checkbox to the cell you want. Then, select the cell with the checkbox and drag the cursor down to the end of the table. This will add a checkbox to all the cells in the table. Now, right-click on the first cell with the checkbox and choose Format Control from the context menu.
