Your PDF may be opening in your Chrome rather than a PDF reader for a few common reasons. Its conceivable that you dont have a PDF reader software downloaded or youve set the default settings to open PDF files in a web browser instead of a PDF reader.
In fact, not having a PDF reader downloaded may be one of the reasons why your PDFs are automatically opening in Chrome. Chrome has a built-in PDF viewer that will allow you to view your PDFs.
In the Chrome browser, select the three vertical dots in the upper-right corner. Choose Settings Advanced Privacy and security. Select Site Settings PDF documents. Use the toggle switch next to Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome to turn the feature on and off.
Merging PDFs is safe as long as you use a trustworthy tool. Only use document mergers that have encrypted upload connections and an automatic file deletion policy.
Copy the URL chrome://settings/content/pdfDocuments, paste it in the URL bar and tap enter. You will be redirected to the pdf Documents window. Under the tab PDF Documents, two further options will come up. Choose the Download PDFs option to disable the Chrome PDF Viewer option.
Follow these easy steps to combine PDF documents into one file: Click the Select a file button above, or drag and drop files into the drop zone. Select the files you want to merge using the Acrobat PDF combiner tool. Reorder the files if needed. Click Merge files. Sign in to download or share the merged file.
Change from Preview to the Acrobat PDF viewer: Right-click on the thumbnail of any PDF file. On the menu, click Get Info. Navigate to the Open With: section and select docHub or Reader from the dropdown list. Tap Change All to apply this change to all future PDF documents. Tap Continue to finish.
In Chrome, click the three dots in the upper right corner of your browser window. Navigate to Settings Advanced Privacy and Security. Click Site Settings PDF Documents. Locate the toggle switch next to Download PDF files instead of automatically opening them in Chrome.
