How to convert PDFs to Word Click the Select a file button above, or drag and drop files into the PDF drop zone. Select the PDF you want to convert to the DOCX file format. Step 1 Open a PDF file on PDFelement. Step 2 Select the text you want to copy and right-click Copy Text or use the keyboard shortcut Ctrl + C (Command + C on Mac) to copy text from PDF. Choose Microsoft Word Document as the text format. Click Settings to make changes in Layout Settings. Click Retain Flowing Text, which will keep the same formatting but change the layout. Now click Retain Page Layout to also retain the layout of the PDF file in Word.
How to convert PDF files into Word documents: Open a PDF file in Acrobat. Click on the Export PDF tool in the right pane. Choose Microsoft Word as your export format, and then choose Word Document. Click Export. Save your new Word file:
