video files are most of the times quite big and to be able to turn them into a jiff first you should trim the video itself especially if you want to loop the animation you might be able to find a shorter period of time from the video which can already be looped so what you need to do to be able to trim is to set the end of the work area to the part which you think can be used for a loop in my case instead of using twelve minutes I just reduced the whole work area to two minutes and then Im going to also trim the video here so when Im trimming I can actually preview where Im going to trim in this film so thats the work area now I can zoom a little bit closer and if I use the loop playback option from the drop down here I can check how it looks so if I press space it will play the animation and it will also loop it it looks quite good with this time lapse video its hard to tell wheres the trim so we have this nice rhythm between the green and red light and the cars moving so I thi

To reduce the file size of a GIF, you can use a GIF compressor. A GIF compressor allows you to upload your video and compress the video into a smaller file to make it easier to edit, share, and send with others online.
Just click Reduce the file size of this GIF, give it a setting (I reduced mine to 32 colors), and click Optimize Now. It tells you how much it reduced the file size by (down to 780 KB in my case), and lets you download the new GIF. So, there you go: Three ways to make your own GIFs from After Effects.
For instance, if you have a GIF banner that weighs 5MB with 10s duration and 30fps, try changing the fps to 1fps. Your file size will immediately drop to 150KB.
How to Compress GIF: Choose a GIF image. Upload your GIF image to VEED by clicking on the Choose GIF button. Select your compression options or create a new GIF from videos. Select the compression settings you want for your GIF. Save and download your video.
Unlike the original video file that you uploaded, a GIF image contains multiple frames - the longer the duration, the more frames. So your 2 seconds of video, could contain up to 20 or more images within a single GIF file.
