But thats a lot of work. It wastes paper and you need to have a printer. I dont even have a printer. Today Im going to show you how you could create an electronic signature, two different ways. One of them is using your phone where you sign your signature on the phone, and then well bring that onto our PC, so itll be digital all the way. The second technique, were going to sign our name, take a high quality photo of it, and then well bring that into the PC. So, Ill show you those two different ways. What Format Should Your Email Signature Be? A best practice to keep in mind when creating your email signature is that you should only use common image formats like PNG or JPEG. Make sure that images are scaled down before you put them into your signature.
If you have an image in your signature that has a DPI of, lets say, 300, the image will probably look very big. This happens because Microsoft Outlook and Apple Mail scale images using the DPI value. To fix this, you will need to use an image processing tool such as Photoshop to change the images DPI setting.
The ideal size for email signatures (both text and image) is no more than 650 pixels wide and between 90 and 150 pixels high.
