hey guys and welcome back to a new video have you ever had a problem that you have a single line text and you need to display that in a box with a fixed whip like here then it can happen on smaller devices that the the size of this box actually shrinks and the text does not fit in anymore as you can see here however today Im going to show you a solution um let me quickly show you a demo of that that will dynamically update the text to always fit in the box where you put it so you cant specif you can specify a default size and as you can see now the box has the same width but the text perfectly fits in so you can specify default size on large screens it will use the default size but if the text is too small it will shrink it down to fit exactly into the box and to implement that custom text lets jump into an empty Android Studio project and here were going to create a new composable file so that will be called Auto resized text select file and create that composable function here A

Create font directory in res (res/font) copy your .ttf fonts in res/font. find the Type.kt file ( in ui/theme directory ) create a variable for font in Type.kt val MyCustomFont = FontFamily( Font(R.font.regular), Font(R.font.bold,FontWeight.Bold) )
I have downloaded fonts from ,after that I have created a new directory named font under res directory and copy fonts . ttf files inside it as you can see in the below image. After placing the . ttf files in the font directory you need to make some changes in Type.
Adding Custom Fonts In the Directory name field give the name font and in Resource Type select font, and press OK. Drag and drop to move (not copy) the font files into the font folder. Note: Dont forget that font files name needs to be in lowercase and use underscore ( ) as a space.
Go to File - Settings - Editor - Font - Size. Now Enter the suitable size and click Apply.

To change font style of Text composable to Italic, in Android Jetpack Compose, pass FontStyle. Italic for the optional fontStyle parameter of Text composable.
To change color of Text composable in Android Jetpack Compose, pass a required Color value for the optional color parameter of Text composable.
To change font size of Text composable in Android Jetpack Compose, pass a required font size value for the optional fontSize parameter of Text composable. Make sure to import sp , as shown in the above code snippet, when you are assign fontSize property with scale-independent pixels.
