TVL is defined as the maximum number of alternating light and dark vertical lines that can be resolved per picture height. A resolution of 400 TVL means that 200 distinct dark vertical lines and 200 distinct white vertical lines can be counted over a horizontal span equal to the height of the picture.
The more pixels there are in an image, the clearer it will be. As such, a screen resolution of 1920x1080 (two million pixels when multiplied) should appear twice as sharp as a resolution of 1280x720 (fewer than one million pixels).
The 576 identifies a vertical resolution of 576 lines, and the i identifies it as an interlaced resolution. The field rate, which is 50 Hz, is sometimes included when identifying the video mode, i.e. 576i50; another notation, endorsed by both the International Telecommunication Union in BT.
720p is the standard high-definition (HD) display resolution of 1280x720 pixels, with progressive scanning, at a 16x9 aspect ratio. 720p improved on the 480i and 480p of standard definition terrestrial television (SDTV).
Standard super VGA resolution of 1,280 columns by 1,024 rows (lines). In the specification 1280x1024x64K, the 64K is the number of colors. See screen resolution.
The vertical resolution (number of horizontal lines) on a TV or computer screen. The term typically is used with TVs; for example, HDTVs have 720 or 1,080 lines, while analog TVs used 525 or 625 lines, several of which were invisible between frames.
There is no denying this. 576P is slightly better than progressive scan and is not considered HD. To anybody who actually owns a decent HDTV with HDMI cables (almost most gamers by now) you know the difference between SD and HD is huge. 576P will look like crap on a 50 inch tv or bigger and im not exagerating.
Right click on the open area on the Desktop. Select the Graphics properties. Click on Display. Under Resolution check and select the 1920x1080 Display Resolution if its present.
Just to clarify a little - 800 lines of horizontal resolution or TVL means that as the electron beam scans horizontally, it can resolve 800 changes from black to white per picture height (not screen width).
1080p (19201080 progressively displayed pixels; also known as Full HD or FHD, and BT. 709) is a set of HDTV high-definition video modes characterized by 1,920 pixels displayed across the screen horizontally and 1,080 pixels down the screen vertically; the p stands for progressive scan, i.e. non-interlaced.
