Sometime last year, I created a video that showed how to create nonstandard charts in Excel. So like info charts. But some people actually called them dome charts. If you missed that one, Im going to put the link to it in the descriptions. Now a few weeks ago, I got this question from one of my Udemy students. Dyego asked, is there any way to create this chart in Excel? So basically a chart that has symbols, which are aligned on the right hand side and the label on the left hand side. What do you think? Can we set this up in Excel? Sure we can. Lets get to work. (upbeat music) Thats our simple data set. For female, I just input the 43% here. Male, I put a formula, one minus the female amount. Now lets just assume thats the percentage of female and male that buy our product. And we want to create an info chart on this. So lets just take a second look at the diagram that we have here. The 43% represents that blue box here. The one thats behind it, thats in light gray is the full

Save a custom chart as a template Right-click the chart, and select Save as Template. In the File name box, type an appropriate name for the chart template. Click Save. The chart template automatically appears in the Templates folder for charts.
What is a combo chart in Excel? A combination chart in Excel is a single chart that has two Y-axis that enables viewers to compare data. Both charts use the same scale, which can help professionals understand the relationships between different data sets.
A combo chart is a combination of two column charts, two line graphs, or a column chart and a line graph. You can make a combo chart with a single dataset or with two datasets that share a common string field. Combo charts can answer questions about your data, such as: What are the trends for the same categories?
To create a simple chart from scratch in Word, click Insert Chart and pick the chart you want. Click Insert Chart. Click the chart type and then double-click the chart you want. In the spreadsheet that appears, replace the default data with your own information. When youve finished, close the spreadsheet.
Create a chart Select the data for which you want to create a chart. Click INSERT Recommended Charts. On the Recommended Charts tab, scroll through the list of charts that Excel recommends for your data, and click any chart to see how your data will look. When you find the chart you like, click it OK.
Graphs are mostly a numerical representation of data as it shows the relation of change in numbers and how one number affects or changes another. However, charts are the visual representation of where categories may or may not be related and how the information is displayed in graphs and charts.
Click anywhere in the chart you want to change to a combo chart to show the CHART TOOLS. Click DESIGN Change Chart Type. On the All Charts tab, choose Combo, and then pick the Clustered Column - Line on Secondary Axis chart.
If your two charts contain different types of data, you cant combine the two charts into one. If both charts have a numeric Y axis, Excel actually will allow you to perform the task, but the resulting chart may not make much sense.
The main functions of a chart are to display data and invite further exploration of a topic. Charts are used in situations where a simple table wont adequately demonstrate important relationships or patterns between data points.
To create a combo chart, select the data you want displayed, then click the dialog launcher in the corner of the Charts group on the Insert tab to open the Insert Chart dialog box. Select combo from the All Charts tab. Select the chart type you want for each data series from the dropdown options.
