How to make a PDF file size smaller. Visit Acrobat online services and navigate to the Compress page by clicking Compress in the menu. Click or tap on the Select a file button. Choose the file from your device or from a cloud service like Google Drive. Your file will upload and compress.
The easiest way to flatten a PDF is Print to PDF. To do this, go to FilePrint, select the printer option from the menu, and then select docHub PDF or Microsoft Print to PDF (see figure below). Click the Print button and name the file.

In the Layers panel, choose Options, and then select either Merge Layers or Flatten Layers. Merged layers acquire the properties of the layer into which they are merged. Flattening layers discards any layer content that isnt visible onscreen. Save the PDF file and attempt to print it.
Flattening a PDF is necessary to reduce a documents size, if a PDF includes a form, or to meet sponsor formatting requirements. PDFs that are not flattened can create errors when users upload documents to a sponsors system.
