Should I collate pages? You should use collated printing if you print more than one document copy. This will make it easier to keep each copy in a separate pile, and easier to bind them together later on.
collationname Is the name of the collation to be applied to the expression, column definition, or database definition. collationname can be only a specified Windowscollationname or a SQLcollationname. collationname must be a literal value.
The Latin1GeneralCIAS collation is a Windows collation and the rules around sorting unicode and non-unicode data are the same. A Windows collation as per this example can still use an index if comparing unicode and non-unicode data albeit with a slight performance hit.
Collate printing means printing a complete set of pages 1 to 100 before proceeding to print the next 19 sets of pages 1 to 100. Uncollated printing means printing 20 copies of the first page, then printing 20 copies of second page, etc.
If you need 10 copies of an 8-page booklet, choosing to print collated will give you the 10 copies with the 8 pages already in order and ready to go. Alternately, printing uncollated would mean the opposite. Printing this same document uncollated will print the first page 10 times, the second page 10 times, and so on.
Collate means to collect and assemble printed sheets of paper within a predetermined order or sequence. Typically, all the pages in the document will print once. Once complete, the machine will repeat the process by printing a second set.
A collation specifies the bit patterns that represent each character in a dataset. Collations also determine the rules that sort and compare data. SQL Server supports storing objects that have different collations in a single database.
A collation name starts with the name of the character set with which it is associated, generally followed by one or more suffixes indicating other collation characteristics. For example, utf8mb40900aici and latin1swedishci are collations for the utf8mb4 and latin1 character sets, respectively.
The collate clause is used for case sensitive and case insensitive searches in the columns of the SQL server. There are two types of collate clause present: SQLLatin1GeneralCP1CSAS for case sensitive. SQLLatin1GeneralCP1CIAS for case insensitive.
