Komodo dragons are already formidable animals as the largest living lizard, being able to take down prey much larger than themselves. Recent discoveries have revealed that they are also venomous, with venom found in their bite. Additionally, it has been found that they have bone armor, with bone nails in their skin resembling chainmail. This unique structure, known as osteoderms, absorbs a lot of damage, making them even more impressive and powerful creatures.

Choose Format Styles and Formatting Click the Character Styles tab. Select Footnote Characters in the list, right-click it, and choose Modify. The Character Styles window will open allowing you to change the properties of your footnote numbers. This includes changing the font, font effects, position, and background.
Click anywhere inside any footnote in the document. Press Ctrl+A to select all footnotes, but only footnotes (Figure B). Press F9 to update any fields in all the selected footnotes and click Yes to see the updated fields, as shown in Figure C.
If citations are consistently placed in notes, then a repeated citation would require a new note. Note numbers are not reused in an essay in MLA style; instead, notes are numbered consecutively, as recommended by The Chicago Manual of Style (Sequencing of Note Numbers).
With help of copy-paste trick above you can use the same footnote twice (or as many as you need) times around your document: Copy both the words around the endnote number. Paste anywhere in the document.
Do not place multiple footnotes at the same point in your text (e.g. 1, 2, 3). If you need to cite multiple sources in one sentence, you can combine the citations into one footnote, separated by semicolons: 1. Hulme, Romanticism and Classicism; Eliot, The Waste Land; Woolf, Modern Fiction, 11.
InDesign does not support continuous footnote numbering across sections. However, you can use the Footnote Continue Numbering script so that the footnotes are numbered continuously. The footnote numbering stylefor example, Arabic numbers (1,2,3) or letters (a,b,c)is a property of the document.
How do I cite the same source many times? Use a shortened form of the citation. Lets say you wrote a footnote (or endnote) for this book after you quoted from page 32: Cite the page number in the text. Use an abbreviation. Use ibid.
To adjust the settings of your footnote, including the numbering style, when to start and stop the numbering of your notes, etc., click on the Expand icon in the Footnotes Group of the References Ribbon. You can have your footnotes and endnotes restart their numbering in each chapter.
To change the continuity of your numbering series, click the dropdown menu arrow next to the Numbering option. Youll see three options for numbering your footnotes and endnotes: Continuous, Restart Each Section, and Restart Each Page.
Select the text frame and choose Object Text Frame Options. Select the Footnotes tab.
