Ronny discusses how to collate prints from a Canon image runner advanced 35:30 II without a finisher. It is crucial to set up a drawer to prevent paper rotation inside the machine. The first drawer is for letter-size paper, while any drawer can be configured for 12 by 18 paper. The rotated letter, also known as letter R, is in landscape format. To print from the rotated letter drawer, select copy, and then hit the finishing tab to rotate 90 degrees. This ensures that alternating sets will be pulled from the correct drawer.

In printing lingo, collate is often used to mean collate copies. That means that instead of printing individual papers, the printer accumulates these documents together to create a complete set. The next time you are printing a document, check out the print preview page.
From the Home screen on the printer control panel, select Copy. Select Options in the lower left corner, and then select Collate in the Options list. If it is not already selected, select Collate on. To adjust the number of copies, touch the Copy Count field to the left of the Copy button.
Collate Print Copies Open the printer driver setup window. (Click here for detailed instructions.) On the Page Setup tab, click the up arrow to specify the number of copies. Click Collate to place a checkmark in the box. Check this check box to print all the pages of a single copy together. Click OK.
When should collate printing be used? Collate printing should be used anytime when you need a number of copies of a multi-page document that is meant to be read sequentially. The more pages in the document and the more copies you need, the more time you can save through collated printing.
Print a multi-page document as booklet: Choose File Print. Select a printer from the menu at the top of the Print dialog box. In the Pages to Print area, select which pages you want in the booklet. Under Page Sizing Handling, choose Booklet.
For Microsoft Windows Open the file to be printed, and then select Print from the File menu. Select the required printer, and then click on the Preferences or Properties button. Make sure 1-Sided Print is selected from the 2-Sided Printing pull-down menu. Click on OK. Click on OK again to send the job to the printer.

If you want each packet to print in the same order, collated printing would be your best bet. This way, collated printing would print pages one through five of the first packet before moving on to the second packet and so on. If something is uncollated, it means its compiled randomly or in an unspecified order.
