Edit PDF on Linux using Master PDF Editor You can go to File Open and select the PDF file that you want to edit. Once the PDF file is opened, you can edit different aspect such as text or images of the file as shown in the screenshot below. You can either add text or add new images in the PDF file.
Option 1 : Exiftool with qpdf Remove metadata with exiftool : exiftool -all= some.pdf. Then remove ununsed objects with qpdf : qpdf --linearize some.pdf - some.cleaned.pdf.
So if you really want to delete the metadata from PDF files so it cannot be recovered instead of just hiding it, you should use the command qpdf --linearize in. pdf out. pdf afterwards.
Choose File Properties, click the Description tab, and then click Additional Metadata. Select Advanced from the list on the left. To edit the metadata, do any of the following, and then click OK. To add previously saved information, click Append, select an XMP or FFO file, and click Open.
In Master PDF Editor, navigate to File Properties. Under the Document Info tab, you will see all of the metadata for your PDF file. If you want to change any of this metadata, just make your edits in this window, then press OK to save it. The new metadata will be written to the PDF file.
To remove metadata from an entire directory, you have to use -recurse option, which will instruct ExifTool to traverse subdirectories. It makes a copy of the original file and removes metadata from the copied file and the original file will be renamed with original appended at the end of it.
Go to the File tab and choose the Properties Description option. You can then view the metadata of the PDF document. To edit or delete metadata on PDF, select the information that you want to delete. Using the Backspace or Delete key on the keyboard, you can easily remove the metadata information.
