hey everyone in this video im going to give you kind of a little bonus tip about how to clean up the edges of your slides and this technique is actually probably not necessarily for this purpose but once you learn this technique you will be able to use it to create all sorts of cool custom shapes and custom cutouts and things like that so but first im going to sort of show you how ive sort of used this in powerpoint now one of the reasons that we love powerpoint is because its each slide is a blank canvas and you can put objects and text anywhere you want and just position it wherever you want to its not like microsoft word where every single line of text makes everything else on the page move so powerpoint is really cool for this purpose and you can see on my cover page here i wanted it to be sort of this triangle effect or this kind of overlay on the bottom of the page so that when i print it or i give it in pdf it just has the bottom or this sort of triangle cutout portion ove

To minimize the file increase, embed only those characters used in the presentation. Go to File Options Save. Under Preserve fidelity when sharing this presentation, select Embed fonts in the file, and then select Embed only the characters used in the presentation.
PowerPoint presentations generally contain a large number of images, videos, gifs, charts, and other visual content. This makes the files very large and difficult to work with. Large files take up a considerable amount of disk space, and they push the limits of the data you are allowed to send via email.
Powerpoint Dos and Donts DO: Stay Concise. DONT: Overdo the Special Effects. DO: Use Humor. DONT: Just Read the Slides. DO: Look Up! DONT: Rush. DO: Be Bold and Direct. DONT: Over Rely on Clipart.
Expand the file, then look in ppt/media for large photos or other media. If there is an ppt/embeddings folder, thats also worth checking for bulky embedded objects. Then reopen the original presentation, find those items and replace them with smaller versions. Was this reply helpful?

PowerPoint Auto Fix Can Clean up Your Slides with a Single Click Select two or more elements on a slide. You have two options: Right-click on one of the elements, choose Auto Fix. On the Home tab, in the Drawing group, click Arrange, then Auto Fix. Voila!
What is the 7x7 Rule for PowerPoint? The 7x7 Rule says that, for each slide in your presentation, you should use no more than: 7 lines (or bullets) per slide. 7 (or fewer) words per line.
Follow the 5/5/5 rule Some experts suggest using the 5/5/5 rule: no more than five words per line of text, five lines of text per slide, or five text-heavy slides in a row.
Uncompressed pictures are a common cause of large PowerPoint files. When photos are added to PowerPoint slides, theyre saved in their full resolution in case they need to be zoomed or cropped while editing the slide, or in case the slides will be displayed on a very large projector screen.
A good way to keep yourself in line is by remembering the 666 rule. Presentation University recommends slides shave no more than six words per bullet, six bullets per image and six word slides in a row.
