this little tutorial is going to show you how to use terminal on a Mac to get rid of the dot underscore files from an external USB thumb drive or SD card I have my drive Mountain I see I have the media files on it some movie files Im gonna use spotlight to search for terminal just start typing it and it should autocomplete and find it hit Enter or return and you have this window type CD space drag your drive into the terminal window press return type LS space - al hit return here are the dot underscore files that are normally invisible these are what we want to get rid of type RM space dot underscore asterisk hit return type LS space - al hit return and you can see that all those dot underscore files got removed using this command you can now type exit and quit terminal and take your drive and put it back in your media player
