TRIM with CLEAN The CLEAN function removes a range of non-printing characters, including line breaks, and returns cleaned text. The TRIM function then takes over to remove extra spaces and returns the final text.
The TRIM function can get rid of white spaces, but it cannot eliminate non-printing characters. Technically, Excel TRIM is designed to only delete value 32 in the 7-bit ASCII system, which is the space character. To remove spaces and non-printing characters in a string, use TRIM in combination with the CLEAN function.

The CLEAN function in Excel is a text function used to clean the text with the characters that are not printed when we use the print option. It is also an inbuilt function in Excel. Removes all spaces from text except for single spaces between words. Use TRIM on text that you have received from another application that may have irregular spacing. Important: The TRIM function was designed to trim the 7-bit ASCII space character (value 32) from text.
