To delete a chart from a worksheet, first select the chart area. This can be done by choosing "chart area" from the chart elements drop-down menu on the "format" tab in the ribbon. Press the Delete key to remove the chart object. If the chart is on its own worksheet, delete that worksheet by right-clicking the tab and choosing "delete" from the pop-up menu. Click the delete button in the confirmation box to permanently remove the chart.
