so again my name is Kevin wolf Im the branch chief of the classification section over at the CPAC Joan Conlon shes one of my senior classifiers and just a little background on classification in the army and in the past and still in the future its kind of handled differently everywhere you go and and in some places HR just doesnt know what to do with it they try to combine it with other HR disciplines like staffing recruitment placement but really by doing that it doesnt get the attention it needs and what will happen is a lot of times when you have the same HR person doing your announcement and your certificate and bringing the employee on classification becomes a the lowest priority and then they end up getting pressured time constraints and they just kind of pencil with it so were finding that we shouldnt group it up together and make it a generalist function it should be more of a specialized expertise function so thats what we did here at our CPAC we grouped it all togethe

How Much Does LMIA Cost? LMIA application fee is $1000 per requested position. The employer is responsible for the application fee and associated legal service costs. For example, if the employer is willing to hire 5 foreign employees, the employer would have to file 5 separate LMIA applications.
Once your Job Bank account(s) is/are created, you will be able to complete an LMIA application via the LMIA Online Portal.
The ads must run for a minimum of four weeks prior to submitting the LMIA. At least one ad must remain posted until the decision on the LMIA is rendered, which can take three to four months at the present time.
Typically, foreign workers and employers must go through a two-step process in order to receive a Canadian work permit. First, the applicant must submit an application to ESDC for a Labor Market Impact Assessment, followed by a second application to Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) for the actual work permit.
LMIA application fee is $1000 per requested position. The employer is responsible for the application fee and associated legal service costs.
If you want to apply under the high-wage option, you must offer $27.28 or more per hour to that person.
Step 2: Get an LMIA (if you need one) If you cant fill your job with a Canadian citizen or permanent resident, youll need to apply for an LMIA through Employment and Social Development Canada and Service Canada. If they agree there is a need for a foreign worker to fill the job, you will get a positive LMIA.
