Chartering is the term used to name the renting of a whole ship, in an agreement between a shipowner and a renting party, in this case known as charterer, intermediated by a freight forwarder or a shipbroker. The charterer is the individual or organization renting the ship.

The three main types of charter are: demise charter, voyage charter, and time charter.
The voyage charter is the most common. Under this method a ship is chartered for a one-way voyage between specific ports with a specified cargo at a negotiated rate of freight.
Fundamental Freedoms (a) freedom of conscience and religion; (b) freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression, including freedom of the press and other media of communication; (c) freedom of peaceful assembly; and. (d) freedom of association.
Types of Charters. The three most common types of charter contracts are the voyage charter, the time charter, and the demise (or bareboat) charter.
There are three classes of charter parties - the Voyage, the Time, and the Demise or BareBoat.
Section 23 of the Charter requires provincial and territorial governments to provide education to Canadians in the official language of their choice, even in areas where a minority of residents speaks that language. In nine provinces and in the three territories, the official language of the majority is English.
